JOB DESCRIPTION (FULL TIME)  Position: EM (Adults) Pastor (Full Time)

SUMMARY:  Johns Creek Korean Church (JCKC) fully understands the changing landscape of the Korean American immigrant Church.  We seek a full-time partnering pastor to shepherd an existing body of adult English-speaking members and uproot a new approach to Korean American congregation, to accommodate and serve the growing number of Second and Third Generation Korean American adults in the growing Atlanta area.

This new approach to Korean American congregation for English Ministries for adults (“EMA”) will fill the ever growing need for displaced Korean-Americans (not fitting for traditional “KM”, or generational gap for current existing “EM” for the adults do not want to worship with children of the “EM” and finally those not truly assimilating to multi-cultural mega-churches or non-Korean related churches in general).

With a newly renovated, open and inviting worship hall with brand new audio/video equipment, the EMA will have full infrastructure support with prime service time in which the members of EMA family members can part take in other existing ministries such as, children, youth and other ministries offerings during the same time of EMA service time slot.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the church vision of deep and wide approach of church ministry
• Work collaboratively with worship team and deliver gospel-centered preaching every Sunday
• Provide spiritual leadership to members of the church
• Engaging teaching and curriculum development and implementation
• Relational discipleship
• Oversee EM (Adults) budget
• Hire/firing staff of EM (Adults)
• Training up elders within EM (Adults)

• Steward of God’s Word and a Faithful worker for God

• Spiritually mature and possess the gift and love of teaching and sharing God’s word.

  • Humble, passionate, and not arrogant
  • Must be devoted to his wife; one woman with the pastor’s marriage illustrating Christ’s Love for His church as in Ephesians 5:25
• Great leadership skills including keen organization, direction, and time management.
• Clear vision and be action-oriented and be able to effectively delegate
• Gifted, clear communicator with high proficiency in English, conversational Korean is preferred
• Discernment in recognizing people’s abilities, strengths, spiritual gifts to help teach, counsel, mature and appropriately use those spiritual gifts to better God’s purpose and enrich our ministry.
• Loving, caring and compassionate for God’s people and a desire to connect and build relations with church members.
• Servant’s heart for un-churched people
• Willingness to work under the umbrella of an established KM church and although separate ministries, willingness to unite and work together for both KM and EMA groups to coexist and grow under one roof.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Enrolled in or Graduated from Seminary (M.Div. Degree)
• Ordained pastor or undergoing process of ordination
• Green card or citizenship holder

COMPENSATION:

• Starting $60,000/year with Medical & Health Benefits
